Tim,
Now that the holidays are over, I'm looking to try new drinks without the guilt of added calories (one of my many new year resolutions!). What suggestions do you have to create "skinnier" cocktails?
Thanks!
Sheila Y.

Dear Sheila,
Merry New Year! I hope your holidays were well and the wine and spirits were even better. This has been a frequent question among many customers. To begin, mixed drinks add up calories quicker than beer and wine. My advice is to start with light beers or wine (red or white). These do not require extra mixers, who are the culprit of added sugars and calories. If spirits are of interest, try sipping it on the rocks. You will get a more natural flavor and will sip it slower. For mixers, opt for diet sodas or "no sugar added" fruit juices. Another good trick is to incorporate club soda and just a "splash" of your preferred mixer. This will help with the sugar and calorie content.
I hope these helped!
Cheers! Tim Brinkmann
