Garrett asks Tim – One of my friends just got back from Brazil and is raving about their national cocktail, the Caipirinha. Have you heard of it and do you carry the ingredients in your store?
I am glad someone has finally expressed interest in Brazil's best-kept secret. The Caipirinha, pronounced (kap-ah-re-nah) was once almost unknown outside Brazil. The drink has become more popular and more widely available in recent years, in large part due to the rising availability of first-rate brands of cachaça (the main ingredient). Cachaca, pronounced (kuh-sha-suh) is technically a brandy but most people consider it a Brazilian rum, although it is not made with molasses like other rums. It is a unique Brazilian product with a distinctive aroma and taste that differs greatly from most rums.
We do carry this product in the store (of course) and would love for you to swing in and we can provide you with the right brand for your taste and budget. I'm loving, Cabana Cachaca which is featured in the Ultimate Caipirinha this month in the recipe section of our site!
Cheers! Tim
